We may feel a sense of unease, a nagging suspicion that something sinister has taken hold of us.
But most people are unaware of the dark presence within them, let alone how demons entered them.
Battling the fear of the unknown is a frustrating and terrifying situation.
But fear not.

Demons Enter a Person Through Generational Curses
Demons use generational curses as doors to enter a person’s life.
Curses of any type, not only generational ones, are a synonymous to destruction. Generational curses are kinds of destruction that go from generation to generation.
Generational curses can affect generations in a descending order. For instance, parents pass their curses down to their children, grandchildren, etc.
They can also spread horizontally, i.e., within the same generation. For instance, among brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, etc.
Here are some typical generational curses:
- Destructive character traits (anger, rage, despotism, abusive inclinations, etc.)
- Witchcraft
- Religion (opposite of a relationship with God)
- False beliefs
- Destructive traditions
- Addictions
- Foul language
- Criminal behavior
- Demonic behavior
- Sicknesses and diseases
- Adultery
- Idolatry
- Divorce
- Infertility
- Poverty
- And many others
Curses are in effect until they’re broken.
To break generational curses:
First, you need to declare that you forgive your ancestors for opening any doors to demons.
Second, declare that you renounce and break the generational curses by the blood of Jesus.
To apply the blood of Jesus, one must be born again and have a relationship with Him.
Here, you have “the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you (Luke 10:19).
Curse breaking may disturb demons within you, and they may manifest themselves.
But it’s a good indicator that your curse-breaking declarations hit the bull’s eye.
I recommend doing the curse breaking with an experienced deliverance minister.
Demons Enter a Person Through Traumatic Experiences
When I interview people who seek deliverance, I always ask them,
Can you share the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?
The reason I ask this question is that traumas are gateways for demons.
Demons love exploiting traumas to cause emotional, physical, and psychological pain to us.
Like a predator in the shadows, demons seize the opportunity to enter a person through trauma.
Imagine a wounded animal, separated from its pack, vulnerable to attack.
Likewise, we become susceptible to spiritual oppression when we go through trauma.
The Bible warns us in Ephesians 4:26-27:
“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.”
This verse reminds us that unresolved trauma can become a foothold for the enemy.
So, one of the first steps in the deliverance process is to identify your traumas and to close those doors.
Demons Enter a Person Through Occult Involvement
Another way how demons enter a person is through involvement in the occult.
The word “occult”, translated from Latin, means secret, hidden, covert, or clandestine.
Thus, occultists claim to be the elite that has secret knowledge hidden from the rest of us.
While the word “occult” is not found in the Bible, it references certain practices associated with the occult, such as:
- Divination
- Fortune telling
- Interpretation of omens
- Astrology
- Necromancy
- Calling up the dead
- And others
People who delve into the occult open themselves up to dark forces.
And all such people become demon-possessed, without exception.
It’s worse than walking into a dangerous neighborhood at night with no protection.
Once you open the doors of the occult, demons find a foothold in your soul.
They exploit your vulnerabilities and wreaking havoc on your life.
The Bible warns us about the dangers of occult involvement in Deuteronomy 18:10-12:
“There shall not be found among you… anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens… For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.”
Even if you try to do it once out of curiosity or mere interest, demons don’t care about your motivation.
As long as you open the door, they rush in before you realize it.
So, stay away from occult practices because you don’t want demons to enter you and hijack your life.
Demons Enter a Person Through Satanic Cults
Satanic cults, with their dark rituals and twisted beliefs, can serve as fertile soil for demons.
The allure of power and secrets draws unsuspecting individuals into their clutches.
There, they become vulnerable to the demonic forces lurking within.
Demons are cunning.
They often exploit the inmost desire for belonging and purpose that many people seek.
As a predator preys on the weak, demons prey on those who are searching for meaning in the wrong places.
You might think that a satanic cult would be an obvious place to find demonic activity.
But these dark forces often work in subtle and deceptive ways.
They manipulate the minds of their followers. They erode their sense of self and replace it with darkness.
In Ephesians 5:11, the Bible warns,
“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”
Satanic cults are dangerous.
Avoiding them like plague and safeguard yourself from the fangs of evil.
Demons Enter a Person Through Accursed Objects
Did you know demons can enter a person through objects that look innocent?
It may sound far-fetched, but certain items carry a spiritual weight that attracts dark forces.
Accursed objects are a gateway for demons to enter your home.
Once they’re inside your home, demons start their destructive work in your family.
They can cause divisions and break relationships. Very often, they cause sicknesses, diseases, and even death.
If you allow at least one demon to enter your home, he will bring many others. And your life will turn into a nightmare.
Examples of accursed objects include and extend beyond:
- Witchcraft paraphernalia
- Objects used in devil/demon worship
- Replica of pagan temples, shrines, and statues/statuettes
- Objects bought in pagan places of worship
- Pagan jewelry
- Jewelry bought at antique stores
- Masks, amulets, potions, crystals, etc.
- Skulls and bones or their replica
- Herbs, foods and drinks bought from warlocks, witches, witch-doctors, mediums, etc.
- Books on witchcraft, shamanism, satanism, etc.
- New Age literature and paraphernalia
- Dolls bought at antique stores or from people you don’t know
- And many others
The Bible warns us of the danger of accursed objects in Deuteronomy 7:26,
“And you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house and become devoted to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest and abhor it, for it is devoted to destruction.”
So, how can you protect yourself from such a threat?
Remove these accursed objects from your house, make a bonfire, and burn them.
Demons Enter a Person Through Abortion
Abortion is a sensitive topic that elicits powerful emotions and differing opinions.
But as a life-altering decision, abortion also has serious spiritual consequences.
While the physical act of abortion may end a pregnancy, it can also open a door for dark forces to enter a person’s life.
As abortion is a euphemism for murder, a woman undergoing abortion turns her womb into a crime scene.
Abortion is a traumatic experience.
As you already know, trauma can attract demons seeking to exploit our pain.
Thus, the act of aborting a life can create a spiritual void that draws demons in.
This may seem counterintuitive, as a woman may feel relief or freedom after an abortion.
But this act can leave a person feeling empty, guilty, and tormented by the forces of darkness.
If you’ve ever undergone an abortion, you need to repent.
God will forgive you and free you from the guilt and shame.
But you will also need to break the curses of abortion, murder, and death, lest your children inherit them.
If you’re a man who forced your woman to abort your baby, you need to repent.
You’ll also need to break the curse of murder and instigation to murder.
Demons Enter a Person Through False Religions
Another pathway for demons to enter a person is false religions.
It may seem like a perplexing concept, but let me break it down for you.
False religions often promote beliefs and practices that are contrary to the Bible.
These deceptive teachings create a breeding ground for spiritual darkness.
As a small crack in a dam can lead to a disastrous flood, embracing false religions can open the door to demons.
It’s like inviting a wolf into your sheepfold without realizing the danger it poses.
During my deliverance ministry, I’ve cast out false religion demons named:
- Spirit of the Russian Orthodox religion
- Allah, Jihad, Mohammad, genies (demons of Islam)
- Shiva, Vishnu, Brahman, Kali, Ganesh, Kundalini (Hindu demons)
- Krishna (Krishnaism)
- Blue monsters from Bali
- Poly-hand god of Dalain (Bon, a Tibetan religion)
- Baal, Ashtoreth, Moloch, Dagon (Canaanite demons)
- And many others
The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14:
“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
Remember, there’s only one true God in the universe – the God of Abraham, Isaak, and Jacob. All other gods are demons of various ranks.
So, stay away from any false religion. Seek a relationship with God of the Bible, and you’ll be safe.
Demons Enter a Person Through Sexual Immorality
Sexual immorality is another way how to can get demons.
It may seem like a tough concept to grasp, but let me paint a picture for you.
Picture a beautiful garden, flourishing with vibrant flowers and lush greenery. Now imagine a weed creeping its way into this pristine space, choking the life out of the plants.
In the same way, sexual immorality acts as the weed that allows demons to infiltrate our lives.
The Bible advises us in 1 Corinthians 6:18,
“Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.”
This verse highlights the unique nature of sexual sin. It affects our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
By engaging in sexual immorality, you run a risk of getting the following demons:
- Jezebel or Lilith
- Fornication or adultery (depending on your marital status)
- Lust
- Sexual perversion
- Porn (if you’re addicted to porn)
- Bestiality (if you commit sexual acts with animals)
- Prostitution
- Jealousy
- Licentiousness
- Promiscuity
- Nudity
- And others
I’m not trying to strike fear.
I’m informing you about what may happen to you if you accept sexual immorality as a lifestyle. By doing that, I’m exposing the forces in darkness who conspire against you.
Don’t get me wrong.
According to the Bible, God created sex. But the devil perverted it beyond recognition and made it a tool for possessing people.
Demons Enter a Person Through Alcohol and Drugs
Demons are insane about using alcohol and drugs as a gateway into a person’s life.
Why?
Because when you’re high on drugs or alcohol, you’re vulnerable.
Alcohol and drugs alter your state of mind and weaken your spiritual defenses.
As an unlocked or open door invites unwanted guests, these substances open a door to demons.
Imagine a person who indulges in excessive drinking or drug use.
His mind becomes clouded. His judgment fails. And he’s more susceptible to demonic influences.
In Ephesians 5:18, it says,
“Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.”
See, when you’re not in control of your body because of drinking alcohol or using drugs, someone else is.
When your brain is high on drugs, your mind is as well.
And your mind is part of your triune soul. When demons occupy your drunken mind, they will also occupy the rest of your soul – your will and your emotions.
That’s why many people suffer from alcohol or drug addiction. Demons keep them on the leash of wanting more.
If you’re addicted to drugs or alcohol, you most likely need deliverance. Especially if you tried rehabs, therapy, and will power, and nothing worked.
Demons Enter a Person Through Entertainment
Say what? Entertainment?
Yesss.
It might seem like a strange notion, but let’s think about it for a moment.
The word “entertainment” originates in the Latin words “inter” (between) and “tener” (to hold).
When you’re entertained, you’re kind of held between two realities – your own and the entertainer’s.
The entertainment industry has a powerful influence on our lives.
Things we look at or things we listen to shape our thoughts and beliefs.
And that’s where the danger lies.
The rulers and authorities mentioned in Ephesians 6:12 can work their way into our minds in a subtle way.
Not every kind of entertainment is demonic, though.
But the following types are:
- Fairy tales and fiction on magic (E.g., Fairy tales by Brothers Grimm, books by J.K. Rowling like Harry Potter, etc.)
- Erotic romance books
- Horror movies
- Porn movies
- Movies promoting the alphabet community and Sodomite values
- Demonic video games (E.g., World of Warcraft, Evil Dead: The Game, Devil May Cry, The Darkness, etc.)
- Games and movies promoting violence (E.g., Tormentor, Mortal Combat, Hyper Violent, Ill, Blasphemous, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.)
- Psychedelic music (E.g., Osees, Nebula, The Black Angels, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, etc.)
- Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music (Metallica, Def Leppard, Avatar, etc.)
- Pop music (E.g., Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, etc.)
- Disney cartoons and shows
When we expose ourselves to the content that glorifies violence, immorality, or occult practices, we open the door to demons.
It’s like inviting a bear into your home and expecting it not to cause any harm.
So, if you watch or listen to demonic content, stop. Get rid of it. Repent and ask God to cleanse your mind.
Demons Enter a Person Through Moments of Weakness
Have you ever experienced a moment of weakness?
You were feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stressed-out.
In those vulnerable moments, we’re prone to erupt negativity onto those whom we love.
When we’re tired and irritable, we may say words we’ll regret saying later.
In those moments, demons like predators lurking in the shadows use that perfect opportunity to strike.
They know our vulnerabilities and will stop at nothing to gain control over our thoughts, emotions, and actions.
It may seem counterintuitive, but acknowledging our weaknesses and seeking God’s strength is the key to resisting these spiritual attacks.
As 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us,
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Now that you know about this door, keep it shut and sealed by the blood of Jesus.
Practice self-control during the moments of weakness. You may fail a few times at first. But overtime, you’ll know how to respond to demonic bait by rejecting it.
Demons Enter a Person Through Hereditary Gateways
The reality of demons entering a person through hereditary gateways may be difficult to grasp.
But think about it this way:
Demons don’t die when a the person they lived in dies.
They pass down from one generation to another.
If there’s a generational curse in the bloodline, a baby can be born with demons already attached to it.
So, it’s not about our own choices and actions, but also about the spiritual baggage we inherit.
A woman called me one day, concerned about her grandson. She said that when the child becomes aggressive, it is hard to subdue him. He has the strength of two adult men. At the time of the call, he was only 11 years old! It’s obvious the child needs deliverance. He must have inherited something from previous generations, as he couldn’t get demons differently this early in his life.
Here are some hereditary doors to demons:
Hereditary health conditions (cancers, diabetes, mental illnesses, etc.)
Unwanted or unplanned pregnancy (opens the door to the spirit of rejection)
Disappointment by a baby’s gender (opens the door to the spirits of gender dysphoria, depression, rejection, and others)
If you discover any hereditary darkness in your life, you need to seek deliverance.
Demons Enter a Person Through Broken Family Dynamics
Broken family dynamics are a fertile soil for demonic activity.
Demons thrive in the brokenness of our families.
Take, for example, a family torn apart by addiction.
Demons of chaos, resentment, anger, hatred and pain frequent such families, affecting children.
Children in such families often end up in the street, joint criminal groups. They get involved in drugs, face criminal charges, and serve a term in jail.
If they ever get married, their marriages end in divorce. And their children repeat the demonic cycle by growing up in broken homes.
Remember, when targeting a family, demons’ job is not only to drive a wedge between the parents. They also aim their attacks on the children.
Why?
Because when they dismantle the God-instituted family, they also undermine society.
The solution?
Healing and restoration through an intimate relationship with God and obedience to His Word.
Demons Enter a Person Through Laying On of Hands
Did you know demons can enter a person through the laying on of hands?
It may sound strange and hard to believe, but let me explain.
One day, a woman called me, complaining about her sudden and unexplained sexual lust. She said her sexual drive peaked so high that she would throw herself at any man’s neck to have sex.
I asked her when she started noticing such symptoms. She said a little over two years ago.
I asked what happened around that time. She pondered and said that a pastor in her former church laid hands on her when she was sick. She added the pastor was later caught cheating on his wife.
Again, I’m not saying that all laying on of hands is bad and involves a risk of demonization.
But you should be careful about who lays hands on you.
Do you know that person? Do you know if they’re a man of God or a fake?
Also, understand that demons will not transfer from someone to you of their own accord. Demons must have an assignment from a higher-up demon or Satan to do that. They can’t leave their assignment in one person unfinished and start a new one in another person.
While some may argue that the laying on of hands is only a physical act, the Bible tells us otherwise.
In Mark 16:18, Jesus says,
“They will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Here, we see the power of touch being used for healing. But as there is a positive side to this, there is also a negative side.
In 1 Timothy 5:22, Paul warns Timothy,
“Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.”
This verse implies that by laying hands on someone practicing sin, we can open ourselves up to the demonic influence.
So, be cautious and discerning when someone tries to lay their hands on you without first asking you.
Demons Enter a Person Through Demonic Tattoos
Have you ever considered the spiritual implications of getting a tattoo?
It may seem like a harmless form of self-expression.
But have you ever stopped to think about what lies beneath the surface?
As a tattoo is a permanent mark on our physical body, it can also leave a spiritual imprint.
Demonic tattoos can serve as an open portal, inviting demons into your life.
But don’t just take my word for it, let’s turn to the Scriptures.
In Leviticus 19:28, it says,
“You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.”
I know what you’re thinking.
We’re not subject to the law of Moses.
I agree.
But don’t look at the letter of the law. Consider its spiritual principle.
It’s clear from this verse that demonic tattoos have everything to do with death.
Also, consider who the tattoo artists are. Many of them are involved in witchcraft, New Age, or other demonic practices.
It’s like with the laying on of hands we mentioned above, be careful who punctures your skin.
Demonic tattoos include but aren’t limited to:
- Snakes
- Scorpions
- Skull and bones
- Ravens
- Spiders and spider webs
- Worms and caterpillars
- Predatory animals
- Masonic symbols
- Illuminati symbols
- Demonic symbols
- Rosicrucian symbols
- Symbols of false religions
- Pagan gods and goddesses
- Pirates
- Weapons
- Tattoos related to violence, death, and murder
- Tattoos of organized crime groups and their symbols
- New Age symbols
- And many more.
One day, this guy came to our church for deliverance. He had a tattoo of his family’s coat of arms that contained three five-point stars.
We anointed that tattoo and sealed it with the blood of Jesus to cancel its function as a demonic portal.
That evening when the guy came home, he said he saw two demons coming out through that tattoo, leaving his body.
If you already have tattoos, repent for getting them. Anoint each of them with anointing oil and declare,
“I break every curse that came into my life through this tattoo, by the blood of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I command every demon that came into me through this tattoo to come out right now! I close this demonic portal and seal it with the blood of Jesus. Amen.”
Do it in faith for the glory of God and never get new tattoos that attract demons again
